Sims Group is a Manchester-based freight and logistics operator running its own liveried fleet since 1973. We handle the whole journey across the UK, Europe and worldwide: hazardous and ADR loads most carriers refuse, daily European road freight, UK haulage and pallets, warehousing, in-house customs, and sea and air forwarding. Where we lead

Hazardous and ADR logistics

Dangerous goods are our specialism, including the liquid consignments and parcels most carriers turn away. We move ADR-classified freight across the UK and Europe on ADR-equipped vehicles with ADR-qualified drivers, as a member of the Hazchem network, which lets us consolidate ADR liquid parcels and groupage down to a single pallet. European road freight

Daily groupage and full-trailer routes across all European countries, with collect-and-deliver on the same vehicle so your freight is not transhipped between operators. Customs is handled in-house on the same shipment, so the declaration and the truck stay joined up. See European road freight.

Road haulage

Full loads, part loads and dedicated vehicles on our own liveried fleet, driven by our own drivers and tracked to proof of delivery (POD). We are not a broker passing your job down the chain: the truck that collects your load carries our name. Vans through rigids to articulated lorries, with tail-lift available (up to 750kg, or 1,000kg with lift assist) for sites with no loading bay. Manchester-based, on the M60 and M62, running national routes daily. See road haulage.

Palletised distribution

Next-day UK pallet delivery through Palletline, the UK pallet network of 93 depots, with single pallets to full loads, and online booking and tracking. Best for consignments too small for a full load but too time-critical for general groupage. See palletised distribution.

Warehousing and 3PL

22,000 sq ft of racked warehousing in Stockport, with pick and pack, flexible terms and no minimums, and one contact across storage and delivery. Stock levels, tracking and PODs are visible through the My Sims portal. See warehousing and 3PL.

International and customs

The whole journey, any mode

Customs clearance

In-house import and export declarations filed through the Customs Declaration Service (CDS), with audit-ready records and links to the major UK ports and airports. Because customs sits in the same building as the freight, declarations move with the load rather than waiting on a third party. See customs clearance.

Freight forwarding

The whole journey organised by road, sea and air, with customs on the same shipment and a global partner network behind it. One company accountable for the route, end to end. See freight forwarding.
