This policy explains how Sims Group (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Sims Logistics Limited, trading as Sims Group, is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 06537221. Our head office is at Trade Winds House, Barton Road, Heaton Mersey Industrial Estate, Stockport, Cheshire SK4 3EG. The data we collect
- Enquiry data: when you use our enquiry form or contact us, we collect your name, company, email, phone number and the details of your enquiry.
- Customer and operational data: if you become a customer, the information needed to provide our services (contact details, consignment and delivery information, account records).
- Website data: limited technical information our hosting provider processes to serve the site securely and reliably, such as your IP address and browser type. We don’t use this to track you or build a profile. See “Cookies” below.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote legitimate interests / steps to enter a contract.
- To provide our logistics services and manage your account performance of a contract.
- To meet legal and customs record-keeping obligations legal obligation.
- To keep our website secure and working properly legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary: with our network and delivery partners (for example Palletline and the Hazchem network) to carry out your shipment, with HMRC and customs authorities where required, and with service providers who support our website and IT. We do not sell your personal data.
The main service providers (processors) behind this website are: Vercel (hosting), Resend (delivering enquiry emails to us) and Sanity (content management).
International transfers
Where we move goods internationally, some data may be shared with partners outside the UK. Where that happens, we use appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including any legal or customs retention requirements (customs records are generally kept for six years).
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability, in line with UK data protection law. To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@simsgroup.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, so you won’t see a cookie consent banner. We only use what’s strictly necessary for the site to work and to keep it secure, set by our hosting provider (Vercel). These don’t identify you and aren’t used to track you across other sites.
If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in future, we’ll ask for your consent first and update this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
